In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

الدكتور علي زكي ناجي مواليد العراق خريج كلية الطب جامعة بغداد / دورة 1996 حاصل على شهادة البورد (دكتوراه) علم الامراض – نسيج مرضي / 2002 عمل في وزارة الصحة من عام 1996 ولغاية عام 2007 في عام 2007 انتقل الى ملاك وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي /جامعة بابل / كلية طب الاسنان وحتى الان حاصل على لقب طبيب استشاري في علم الامراض 2017 حاصل على لقب الاستاذية في 2021 تدريسي في الدراسات الاولية والعليا ومشرف على العديد من طلبة الماجستير والدكتوراه (البورد / علم الامراض)
