In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. ضمن الخطط المستمرة لتطوير البيئة التعليمية والخدمية في كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل، وبتوجيه مباشر من قبل السيدة عميد الكلية، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، وبمتابعة ميدانية حثيثة من السيد المعاون الإداري، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور وائل رشيد عبيد الفتلاوي، باشرت الكوادر الفنية في شعبة الديوان بحملة واسعة للصيانة والتأهيل. ومن أبرز الأعمال المنجزة تأهيل المقاعد الدراسية حيث شملت الأعمال إجراء صيانة شاملة للمقاعد في القاعات الدراسية، تضمنت عمليات اللحام وإعادة التأهيل لعدد كبير منها، لضمان راحة الطلبة وتوفير أجواء دراسية مثالية. كذلك باشرت الكوادر بنقل وتنصيب عدد من أجهزة طب الأسنان (الكراسي الطبية) في عيادة تقويم الأسنان، وذلك لتعزيز القدرة الاستيعابية وتطوير الخدمات التدريبية والعلاجية في العيادة. تأتي هذه الأعمال بجهود ذاتية استثنائية من قبل منتسبي شعبة الديوان، حيث تم الاعتماد بشكل كامل على الخبرات الداخلية للكلية في التنفيذ، مما ساهم في إنجاز المهام بدقة عالية ومن دون تحميل ميزانية الكلية أي تبعات مالية إضافية. تندرج هذه الخطوات ضمن سلسلة من الإجراءات التي تتخذها عمادة الكلية للحفاظ على ديمومة المرفقات الجامعية وتطوير البنى التحتية بما يخدم المسيرة العلمية. احمد ابراهيم
