In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

تحت شعار الفرح والولاء، وبرعاية وحضور السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، أقامت الكلية احتفالية بهيجة بمناسبة ذكرى ولادة الإمام علي بن موسى الرضا (عليه السلام)، والتي تزامنت مع غمرة احتفالات الكلية بـ "يوم الجامعة". شهد الحفل تعاوناً مثمراً بين شعبة النشاطات الطلابية وشعبة الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي ومنتسبي وطلبة الكلية. ولم يقتصر الحفل على الجانب الروحاني فحسب، بل شهد تنوعاً في الفعاليات التي أدخلت السرور على قلوب الحاضرين منها توزيع الحلوى والعصائر على الأساتذة والموظفين والطلبة ابتهاجاً بهذه الذكرى العطرة. كما وتم نشر بوسترات توعوية وثقافية تستلهم من سيرة الإمام الرضا (عليه السلام) قيم العلم والأخلاق، وتربطها بالمسيرة الأكاديمية. وقد دمج عبق المناسبة الدينية مع فخر الانتماء لجامعة بابل في يومها السنوي، مما عكس روح العائلة الواحدة داخل أروقة الكلية. "إن إحياء هذه المناسبات يعزز من الروابط الاجتماعية والروحية داخل المؤسسة التعليمية، ويستحضر القيم السامية التي نحتاجها في بناء جيل واعٍ ومبدع." ختاماً، أعربت السيدة العميدة عن شكرها لجميع القائمين على هذا المحفل، متمنيةً للجامعة وطلبتها دوام التوفيق والازدهار تحت راية العلم والعلماء. احمد ابراهيم
