In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

بخطىً تهدف إلى تعزيز الثقافة الصحية لدى الأجيال الناشئة، وتحت شعار "ابتسامة طفلك أمانتنا"، نظمت كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل زيارة ميدانية توعوية إلى مدرسة الدرة الأهلية، وذلك بناءً على توجيهات مباشرة من السيدة عميد الكلية، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي. شهدت الزيارة مشاركة فاعلة من كوكبة من تدريسيي وطلبة الكلية، وبالتنسيق مع شعبة الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي وكان الهدف من المبادرة هو مد جسور التعاون بين الجامعة والمؤسسات التربوية، ونقل المعرفة الأكاديمية إلى حيز التطبيق المجتمعي. ومن أبرز فعاليات الزيارة هو تقديم محاضرات مبسطة وتفاعلية حول طرق العناية بنظافة الفم، وأهمية الغذاء الصحي في بناء أسنان قوية وإجراء كشوفات أولية لأسنان التلاميذ لتشخيص الحالات التي تتطلب مراجعة طبية، وتقديم نصائح طبية مخصصة لكل حالة. وكذلك توزيع فرش وأطقم تنظيف الأسنان على الطلبة كخطوة تحفيزية لترسيخ عادة التنظيف وجعلها جزءاً من روتينهم اليومي. تأتي هذه الزيارة ضمن سلسلة من الأنشطة المجتمعية التي تتبناها كلية طب الأسنان، مؤكدةً دورها ليس فقط كصرح تعليمي، بل كشريك أساسي في رفع مستوى الوعي الصحي في محافظة بابل، والمساهمة في خلق جيل واعٍ يدرك أهمية الوقاية قبل العلاج. "إن رعاية أسنان أطفالنا اليوم هي الاستثمار الحقيقي لإبتسامة الغد". احمد ابراهيم
