In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

في إطار المتابعة الميدانية الحثيثة للمشاريع العمرانية، التقت السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، بأعضاء لجنة استلام بناية مختبرات فرع العلوم الأساسية برئاسة المهندس عبد الهادي عمران من شعبة شؤون الديوان. عقب اللقاء، أجرت السيدة العميد جولة تفقدية شاملة في موقع المشروع الذي تنفذه دائرة مشاريع محافظة بابل، حيث اطلعت ميدانياً على اللمسات النهائية ونسب الإنجاز المتحققة. شملت الجولة ما يلي: التأكد من مطابقة المواصفات الفنية المعتمدة للمختبرات العلمية الحديثة. كذلك رصد النواقص الفنية واللوجستية في الموقع للوقوف على أسباب تأخير بعض المفاصل ووضع الحلول الفورية لها. وقد أوعزت السيدة العميد بضرورة تذليل كافة العقبات الإدارية والفنية لضمان تسريع عملية التسلم النهائي للبناية. كذلك أكدت السيدة العميد الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى هندي خلال جولتها أن الكلية تسابق الزمن لتهيئة هذه المختبرات وإدخالها الخدمة، مشددة على أن رفد فرع العلوم الأساسية ببناية مختبرات متكاملة سيسهم بشكل مباشر في رفع جودة التدريب العملي لطلبتنا، بما ينسجم مع الرؤية التطويرية لجامعة بابل. احمد ابراهيم
