In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. The institution is made up of 21 colleges spread across three main locations in Hilla. The central university campus is in the medical colleges complex in the center of Hilla -Al-Iskan.

ضمن إطار تفعيل الشراكات العلمية وتبادل الخبرات بين المؤسسات الجامعية، وبإشراف مباشر من السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، زار وفد رفيع المستوى من الكلية مقر الكلية التقنية الصحية والطبية في الكوفة. ضمّ الوفد الزائر نخبة من الكفاءات الأكاديمية والإدارية، ترأسهم المدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي (معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية)، وبعضوية كل من الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور زينب هادي كامل، والأستاذ المساعد آزاد محمد رضا، والمدرس الدكتور محمد عقيل كرم. وكان في استقبال الوفد السيدة عميد الكلية التقنية، الأستاذ الدكتورة أنغام جاسم الرماحي، التي رحبت بهذه الخطوة الرامية لمد جسور التواصل العلمي. تركزت الزيارة على مناقشة السبل الكفيلة بالارتقاء بالبحث العلمي، وتحديداً من خلال المشاركة الفاعلة في المؤتمر العلمي الخامس الذي تعتزم الكلية التقنية إقامته. وتأتي هذه اللقاءات كخطوات تأسيسية تهدف إلى تحويل المؤتمر إلى تظاهرة علمية موسعة تشمل مختلف الاختصاصات الطبية، بما يضمن تبادل النتاجات البحثية الحديثة وتطوير القطاع الصحي الأكاديمي. وعلى هامش الزيارة، وتجسيداً لروح العطاء العلمي، قدم الأستاذ المساعد آزاد محمد رضا للسيدة عميد الكلية التقنية كتابين من تأليفه الشخصي، كإهداء يغني المكتبة العلمية ويعكس النتاج الفكري المتميز لتدريسيي جامعة بابل. احمد ابراهيم
