In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. برعاية كريمة من لدن السيد رئيس جامعة بابل الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر، وبإشراف السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان – جامعة بابل الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي نظّمت وحدة شؤون المرأة بالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الإعلام ورشة تدريبية بعنوان: "مزايا العمل في القطاع الخاص" تنفيذا للخطة الوطنية الاستراتيجية للمرأة العراقية لعام 2026 المحور الثاني التطوير الاقتصادي للمرأة العراقية، وذلك يوم الأحد الموافق 15-2-2026 على القاعات الدراسية في الكلية، ضمن سلسلة النشاطات التوعوية الهادفة إلى تطوير قدرات الطلبة والخريجين وتأهيلهم لسوق العمل. وقد حاضر في الورشة كلٌّ من: ا.د فاطمة مالك عبود والمدرس أسماء سامي جواد أهداف الندوة الى تعريف الطلبة والخريجين بطبيعة العمل في القطاع الخاص ومتطلباته. وتوضيح الفروقات بين العمل في القطاعين العام والخاص من حيث الفرص والتحديات. وتنمية مهارات التخطيط للمسار الوظيفي بعد التخرج. وتعزيز ثقافة المبادرة وريادة الأعمال لدى الشباب. وكذلك ربط مخرجات التعليم باحتياجات سوق العمل. أهمية الندوة للطلبة والخريجين. مساعدة الطلبة على تكوين رؤية واضحة لمستقبلهم المهني. وتهيئة الخريجين للاندماج في سوق العمل بثقة وكفاءة. والتعريف بالمهارات المطلوبة لدى أصحاب العمل في القطاع الخاص. وتقليل فجوة الانتقال من الدراسة إلى الحياة العملية. كذلك تحفيزهم على تطوير مهاراتهم لزيادة فرص التوظيف. وتأتي هذه الورشة في إطار سعي الجامعة إلى دعم توجهات تمكين الشباب وخلق فرص عمل مستدامة، وتفعيل دور المؤسسة الأكاديمية في إعداد كوادر قادرة على الاندماج في سوق العمل والمساهمة في دعم الاقتصاد الوطني. احمد ابراهيم
