In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

ضمن إطار التعاون العلمي المستمر والسعي لتعزيز البحث الأكاديمي، سجلت كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل حضوراً متميزاً في فعاليات "اليوم العلمي الثامن عشر للحالات النادرة في طب الأطفال"، والذي نظمه مستشفى الهندية التعليمي واستضافته رحاب جامعة الزهراوي. شهد المؤتمر مشاركة فاعلة من تدريسيات فرع الأحياء المجهرية وفرع العلوم الأساسية في الكلية، وهنّ كل من: م.د. ريام عبد الخضر و م.م. ريم أكرم و م.م. هديل لؤي. تأتي هذه المشاركة لتسليط الضوء على الدور المحوري لعلوم الأحياء المجهرية في تشخيص وفهم الحالات الطبية النادرة لدى الأطفال، وربط الجوانب المختبرية الدقيقة بالواقع السريري. وقد ركز المؤتمر على استعراض أحدث التشخيصات الطبية للحالات المعقدة. وتبادل الخبرات بين الأكاديميين والأطباء الممارسين في القطاع الصحي. وتعزيز الشراكة العلمية بين جامعة بابل والمؤسسات الصحية والتعليمية الأخرى. حيث تعكس هذه المشاركات حرص الكوادر التدريسية في جامعة بابل على مواكبة آخر التطورات الطبية العالمية والمساهمة في تقديم حلول علمية تخدم المجتمع الطبي والصحي في العراق. احمد ابراهيم
