In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

بتوجيه من السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، شاركت شعبة النشاطات الطلابية في الكلية بالدورة التعليمية التخصصية التي نظمها قسم النشاطات الطلابية في رئاسة الجامعة، بهدف تعزيز الدور الثقافي والفني في الوسط الجامعي أقيمت الدورة برعاية كريمة من السيد رئيس جامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر الياسري، وبإشراف ومتابعة مباشرة من قبل الأستاذ الدكتور ميثاق طالب عبد الجبوري، مساعد رئيس الجامعة للشؤون الإدارية. والتي نظمها قسم النشاطات الطلابية (شعبة النشاط الفني) بالتعاون مع كلية التربية للعلوم الإنسانية هذه الدورة تحت عنوان: "المسرح الجامعي / خصائصه - سماته - وتطبيقاته" وتهدف الدورة الى تسليط الضوء على الدور التربوي والثقافي للمسرح الجامعي. وتنمية القدرات الإبداعية والفكرية لدى الطلبة. وبناء وعي طلابي رصين من خلال محاور علمية وتطبيقية. وقد حاضر في الدورة نخبة من الأكاديميين المتخصصين، وهم:الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أحمد كاظم منصور. والأستاذ المساعد حيدر محمد حسين. ومثل كلية طب الأسنان في هذه المشاركة السيد سعد رحيم مهدي، مسؤول شعبة النشاطات الطلابية في الكلية. كما وأكد الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أحمد كاظم منصور الخفاجي، مدير قسم النشاطات الطلابية، أن المسرح الجامعي ليس مجرد ممارسة فنية، بل هو: أداة أساسية لبناء الشخصية الطلابية الواعية. ومنصة فاعلة لترسيخ القيم الإنسانية والفكر النقدي. ومشروع ثقافي وتربوي مستدام يسعى القسم لتحويله إلى حراك دائم داخل أروقة الجامعة. احمد ابراهيم
