In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

برعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم، وبإشراف الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي عميد كلية طب الأسنان المحترمة، نظمت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كلية طب الأسنان / جامعة بابل، وبالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الإعلام في الكلية، محاضرة تثقيفية بعنوان (تفعيل دور المجتمع في مواجهة العنف ضد المرأة) وضمن حملة الستة عشر يوما لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة. وقد حاضرت فيها م.م. زينب عبد خلف التدريسية في فرع العلوم الأساسية وعضوة في لجنة شؤون المرأة في الكلية وذلك يوم الثلاثاء 9/12/2025 تناولت فيها الدور الأساسي للمجتمع في التصدي للعنف الاسري والعنف ضد النساء ويتجلى ذلك من فئات مجتمعية انطلاقا من الاسرة ودورها الأساسي في غرس قيم الاحترام بين النساء والرجال وكذلك دور المؤسسات التعليمية والتربوية بترسيخ مفاهيم العدل واحترام المرأة وتوعية الطلبة من مخاطر العنف بشتى اشكاله كما للإعلام والمجتمع المدني دور فاعل من خلال الحملات التوعوية وتقديم الدعم النفسي والقانوني للنساء المعنفات وكذلك للمؤسسات الحكومية دور أساسي بالتصدي للعنف من اصدار تشريعات وتوفير الحماية القانونية ودعم المراكز المتخصصة بحالات العنف لذا فمسألة مواجهة العنف هي مسؤولية جميع افراد المجتمع بالإضافة الى المؤسسات الحكومية من خلال الشراكة الفاعلة للحد من مظاهر العنف. احمد ابراهيم
