In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

برعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم، وبإشراف الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبدالحسين هندي عميد كلية طب الأسنان المحترمة، نظمت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كلية طب الأسنان / جامعة بابل، وبالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الإعلام في الكلية، جلسة حوارية بعنوان قصة نجاح سيدة بابلية بإدارة أ.م.د. زينب هادي كامل عضوة ارتباط وحدة شؤون المرأة في الكلية حاضرت فيها أ.د. سهى عبدالحسين هندي عميد الكلية وذلك تنفيذا للخطة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للمرأة العراقية / ركيزة التعافي وذلك في يوم الاربعاء الموافق 3/12/2025. حيث تم تقديم عرض وفيديو عن السيرة الذاتية للدكتورة سهى عبدالحسين هندي والتحصيل الاكاديمي والعمل الاداري كإحدى الشخصيات النسوية البابلية على الصعيد الاكاديمي والمهني والاجتماعي حيث ولدت وترعرت في مدينة الحلة ودرست في مدارسها وكانت من المتفوقات علما وسلوكا واكملت الدراسة في كلية طب الاسنان في جامعة بغداد وعملت في المجال الصحي ثم الاكاديمي كما تسنمت العديد من المناصب القيادية وكان لها العديد من الاعمال التطوعية وخدمة المجتمع وركزت في الجلسة على أهمية دور الاسرة وخصوصا الاب والأم في بناء شخصية الفرد ونجاحه كما ان يكون قادرا على اتخاذ القرارات والمغامرة احيانا للوصول الى الاهداف المرسومة مسبقا وتحدي كل الصعاب دون توقف او تلكؤ واوصت الفتيات اليافعات بضرورة رسم اهدافهن في الحياة وان لا يستسلمن مهما كانت من معوقات وهذا كله بالاتكال على الله سبحانه وتعالى والسعي الحثيث لتحقيق الذات والنجاح. احمد ابراهيم
