In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

بتوجيه مباشر من السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي المحترمة، شاركت الكلية بفعالية في أول بطولة للقوة البدنية على مستوى الجامعة مُثلت الكلية في هذا الحدث الرياضي النوعي من قبل شعبة النشاطات الطلابية متمثلة بالسيد سعد رحيم مهدي مسؤول الشعبة وعدد من الطلبة. والتي أُقيمت برعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر الياسري رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم، بإشراف ومتابعة الأستاذ الدكتور ميثاق طالب عبد الجبوري مساعد رئيس الجامعة للشؤون الإدارية. حيث نُظمت الفعالية بالتعاون بين قسم النشاطات الطلابية / شعبة النشاط الرياضي وعمادة كلية التربية البدنية وعلوم الرياضة والتي هدفت إلى تعزيز ثقافة الرياضة التنافسية ودعم المواهب الطلابية في مجالات اللياقة والقوة والتحمّل البدني وغرس روح المثابرة والانضباط الرياضي. وقد أُقيمت المنافسات يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 18 / 11 / 2025 في قاعة كلية التربية البدنية وعلوم الرياضة، وشهدت إقبالًا واسعًا من مختلف كليات الجامعة. الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أحمد كاظم منصور الخفاجي، مدير قسم النشاطات الطلابية، أكد أن البطولة كانت "إضافة نوعية إلى خارطة النشاطات الرياضية في جامعة بابل"، مشيدًا بالإقبال الواسع ونجاح التجربة بفضل تكاتف الجهود، وأن الهدف هو "اكتشاف طاقات طلابنا ودعمهم للمنافسات المحلية والوطنية". كما لفت الخفاجي إلى اكتمال كافة التحضيرات وتواجد فرق تحكيمية متخصصة لضمان منافسة عادلة وشفافة. حيث توجهت جامعة بابل بالشكر لكل من شارك وساهم في إنجاح هذه الفعالية الرياضية النوعية. احمد ابراهيم
