In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

برعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم، وبإشراف الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبدالحسين هندي عميد كلية طب الأسنان المحترمة، نظمت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كلية طب الأسنان / جامعة بابل، وبالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الإعلام في الكلية، حملة توعوية بعنوان منهاج دور الأمهات في تهيئة الأطفال للفحص الدوري لأسنانهم بإدارة ا.م.د. زينب هادي كامل عضوة ارتباط وحدة شؤون المرأة في الكلية وشملت الحملة نشر بوسترات توعوية أعدتها م.م. سارة أنور محمد علي وورشة عمل حاضرت فيها ا.د. فاطمة مالك عبود ومحاضرة توعوية حاضرت فيها طبيبة الأسنان زينب علي، من فرع أمراض وجراحة ما حول الأسنان في الكلية وذلك تنفيذا للخطة الوطنية الثالثة للمرأة والأمن والسلام / ركيزة المشاركة والإصلاح المؤسسي / الفقرة الأولى / الوعي المجتمعي حول التنشئة الاسرية ودور المرأة في اعداد الأجيال وذلك في يوم الأحد الموافق 2/11/2025 . حيث تضمنت محورًا حيويًا في طب الأسنان الوقائي يتمثل في الدور المحوري للأم في تهيئة الطفل للفحص الدوري للأسنان بوصفها العنصر الأساسي في تشكيل السلوك الصحي للطفل. تم التأكيد على أن نجاح برامج الفحص المبكر يعتمد بدرجة كبيرة على الوعي الأمومي، ومدى إدراك الأم لأهمية المتابعة المنتظمة لصحة الفم والأسنان منذ السنوات الأولى للحياة. وتم التركيز على الجوانب الاتية: البعد النفسي والسلوكي وكيفية تهيئة الطفل نفسيًا لزيارة طبيب الأسنان لتقليل الخوف والقلق المرتبط بالإجراءات العلاجية، البعد التربوي ويشمل دور الأم في غرس العادات الصحية اليومية مثل تنظيف الأسنان واستخدام معجون الفلوريد والبعد الوقائي المتمثل بمساهمة الفحص الدوري في الكشف المبكر عن تسوس الأسنان ومشكلات النمو الفكي وكذلك البعد التثقيفي ويشمل أهمية التوعية المجتمعية بتعاون الأمهات والمدارس والمراكز الصحية في نشر ثقافة الفحص الدوري. واوصت الحملة على أن تمكين الأمهات معرفيًا وسلوكياً يمثل ركيزة أساسية لإنجاح البرامج الوطنية لصحة الفم، وأنّ تدريب الأمهات على أساليب التهيئة النفسية للأطفال يعزز من فعالية الفحص الوقائي ويقلل من نسب التسوس وأمراض اللثة في المراحل العمرية المبكرة. احمد ابراهيم
