In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. برعاية الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر الياسري رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم، وإشراف ومتابعة الأستاذ الدكتور ميثاق طالب عبد الجبوري مساعد رئيس الجامعة للشؤون الإدارية المحترم، وبتوجيه من السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي المحترمة، شاركت شعبة النشاطات الطلابية في كلية طب الأسنان متمثلةً بالسيد سعد رحيم مهدي مسؤول الشعبة وعدد من طلبة الكلية، في ورشة العمل النوعية التي نظّمها قسم النشاطات الطلابية / شعبة النشاط الفني بالتعاون مع كلية التمريض. محاور وأهداف الورشة عُقدت الورشة بعنوان (دور الفن وأهميته في حياة الفرد وتنمية الذائقة الفنية والجمالية) وذلك يوم الأربعاء الموافق 29 / 10 / 2025 على قاعة كلية التمريض. تناولت الورشة محاور متعددة حول: الأثر العميق للفنون في تهذيب السلوك الإنساني وصقل الحسّ الجمالي. - دورها في تعزيز الصحة النفسية وبناء التوازن الفكري والعاطفي لدى الفرد. - دور الجامعات في تنمية الوعي الجمالي بين الطلبة عبر البرامج والأنشطة الفنية الهادفة. التأكيد على أهمية الفن أكد الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أحمد كاظم منصور الخفاجي مدير قسم النشاطات الطلابية في رئاسة الجامعة، أن الفنّ ليس ترفاً جمالياً فحسب بل هو أحد ركائز بناء الإنسان الواعي والمتوازن، إذ يفتح أمام الطلبة آفاقاً جديدة للتعبير والإبداع ويعزز لديهم الإحساس بالانتماء والهوية. وأشار إلى حرص جامعة بابل على أن يكون الفنّ حاضراً في كل مفاصل الحياة الجامعية بوصفه لغةً راقية للحوار والتنوير والتكامل الإنساني. اختتمت الورشة بتفاعل مميز من الحاضرين ومداخلات أثرت النقاش، مؤكدين أهمية إدماج الفنون في البرامج الجامعية لتكون وسيلة لبناء الوعي الجمالي والارتقاء بالذائقة الثقافية لدى طلبة الجامعة. احمد ابراهيم
