In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. تقديراً للجهود والإنجازات كرمت عمادة كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل، ممثلة بالسيدة العميد الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي المحترمة، اليوم، الطلبة والمشرفين المتميزين الذين حققوا إنجازات في فعاليات علمية ورياضية على المستويين الوزاري والجامعي. جرت مراسم التكريم بحضور كلاً من الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور حسن فليح الوطيفي معاون العميد للشؤون العلمية والمدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية. المكرمون والإنجازات: أولاً: تكريم الكوادر الإشرافية تم تكريم السيد سعد رحيم مهدي، مسؤول شعبة النشاطات الطلابية والمشرف على نشاطات الطلبة، بدرع الإبداع والتميز؛ تثميناً لجهوده في دعم وتوجيه الفرق الطلابية. ثانياً: تكريم الإنجازات الرياضية (المستوى الجامعي) تم تكريم الطالب محمد حيدر الصفار (المرحلة الخامسة) لحصوله على المركز الثالث في بطولة السباحة الأولمبية، التي أقيمت على مستوى الجامعة. ثالثاً: تكريم فريق العمل التطوعي (المستوى الوزاري) كُرم الطلبة الذين مثلوا الكلية في المؤتمر الوطني الأول للعمل التطوعي الوزاري، حيث انضموا إلى وفد فريق جامعة بابل الرسمي. وهم: الطالب ضرغام حيدر عباس. الطالب حسين مصطفى هادي. الطالبة آلاء مشتاق حمود. الطالبة فاطمة بشار جبار. واختُتمت الفعالية بتوزيع "درع الإبداع والتميز للكلية" على جميع المكرمين، تأكيداً على اعتزاز الكلية بهم وبما قدموه من إسهامات رفعت اسم الكلية وجامعة بابل. احمد ابراهيم
