In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. قامت السيدة عميد كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل، الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، بإجراء جولة تفقدية شاملة في أروقة ومرافق الكلية، وذلك برفقة المعاون الإداري، المدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي. جاءت الجولة بهدف الوقوف على جاهزية البنية التحتية ومتابعة سير العمل في الأقسام العلمية والإدارية، حيث شملت المحاور التالية: 1. المتابعة الأكاديمية والبنية التحتية: زيارة القاعات الدراسية للتأكد من توفير البيئة التعليمية المناسبة للطلبة. الاطلاع على أعمال تأهيل وتطوير قاعة الشهيد الدكتور علاء عباس. 2. تفقد الأقسام الطبية والمختبرات: زيارة بناية العيادات الطبية التعليمية والمختبرات. 3. التواصل وحل المشكلات: الاستماع إلى تفاصيل والمشاكل التي تواجه الموظفين والطلبة في أثناء عملهم ودراستهم. التأكيد على العمل الفوري لحل هذه المشاكل بأسرع وقت ممكن لضمان سير العملية التعليمية بسلاسة. 4. تحسين البيئة الجامعية: الاطلاع على أعمال إعادة تأهيل الحدائق وزراعة الثيل في المساحات الفارغة، بهدف تجميل البيئة الجامعية. وتأتي هذه الجولة ضمن جهود العمادة المستمرة لضمان تقديم أفضل الخدمات التعليمية والصحية لمنتسبي وطلبة الكلية. احمد ابراهيم
