In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

شارك ثلاثة تدريسيين من كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل في فعاليات المؤتمر العلمي الأول لكلية الصيدلة في جامعة المستقبل، ببحث علمي مشترك ومتميز. ضم فريق البحث كلًا من: الأستاذ الدكتور بهاء حمدي العميدي الأستاذ الدكتور فاطمة مالك الأستاذ الدكتور زينب خضر عنوان البحث وأبرز النتائج حمل البحث عنوان: (دراسة مناعية وفسيولوجية للمرضى المصابين بتقرحات القناة الهضمية ببكتيريا الملوية الحلزونية). ركزت الدراسة على جانبين رئيسيين: الجوانب المناعية: تناولت الدراسة قياس تراكيز الأجسام المضادة(IgG و IgMو IgA) في بلازما دم المرضى المصابين بتقرحات القناة الهضمية الناتجة عن بكتيريا الملوية الحلزونية، وأظهرت النتائج زيادة واضحة في تراكيز جميع أنواع الأجسام المضادة لدى المرضى مقارنة بالأصحاء. الجوانب الفسيولوجية: أجريت اختبارات لتقييم العوامل الفسيولوجية، حيث لوحظ أن كتلة الوزن وحالة التدخين تلعبان دورًا في زيادة حالات الإصابة بتقرحات القناة الهضمية لدى هؤلاء المرضى مقارنةً بالأشخاص الأصحاء. تأتي هذه المشاركة العلمية كجزء من الأنشطة التي تساهم في رفع التقييم العام لكلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل وتعزز من التعاون والعلاقات العلمية مع الجامعات العراقية الأخرى. احمد إبراهيم
