In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

عقدت كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل ورشة عمل لمناقشة خطط بحوث طلبة الماجستير للعام الدراسي 2024-2025. جرت الورشة بحضور عميد الكلية، الأستاذة الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي، والمعاون العلمي، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور حسن فليح الوطيفي، والمعاون الإداري، المدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي. كما حضر أعضاء من اللجنة العلمية للدراسات العليا في الكلية واللجنة العلمية لفرع الأحياء المجهرية، إضافة إلى المشرفين على بحوث الطلبة. تفاصيل البحوث تمت خلال الورشة مناقشة ثلاثة مشاريع بحثية قدمتها طالبات الدراسات العليا. تركز هذه المشاريع بشكل أساسي على دراسة الميكروبات المسببة لتسوس الأسنان والتهابات اللثة والأمراض الفموية الأخرى مثل تقرحات اللثة. تتضمن البحوث استخدام تقنية PCR لعزل هذه الميكروبات، بالإضافة إلى دراسة بعض المؤشرات المناعية المرتبطة بالحالات المرضية. يتم أخذ العينات من عيادات الكلية تحت إشراف أطباء متخصصين، ثم تُشخص الميكروبات في مختبرات الأحياء المجهرية بالكلية. برنامج الدراسات العليا يُذكر أن برنامج الدراسات العليا في فرع الأحياء المجهرية بالكلية يمنح الخريج شهادة الماجستير في تخصص الأحياء المجهرية الفموية والطبية. احمد إبراهيم
