In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

الأستاذ المساعد الدكتورة ناهدة حمود الجراح من كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل اختيرت كمقوم علمي لبحث علمي دولي. حصلت على شهادة تقديرية لمشاركتها في تقييم الأبحاث في المؤتمر الدولي للهندسة والتكنولوجيا من أجل الاستدامة المستقبلية، الذي اقيم في جامعة دي لا سال DE LA SALLE في مانيلا بالفلبين. تُعدّ الدكتورة ناهدة حمود الجراح تدريسية في فرع العلوم الأساسية بكلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل. وقد اختيرت بناءً على خبرتها العلمية للمشاركة في تقييم الأبحاث المقدمة في المؤتمر الدولي الذي تم عقده في الفترة من 27 إلى 29 نوفمبر 2025. حيث يُشير اختيار الدكتورة ناهدة كمقوم علمي إلى الاعتراف الدولي بكفاءتها وخبرتها الأكاديمية. ويعكس هذا الإنجاز المكانة العلمية المرموقة التي وصلت إليها الكوادر التدريسية في جامعة بابل، مما يساهم في تعزيز سمعة الجامعة على الصعيد العالمي. يُعتبر هذا التقدير حافزًا للباحثين والأكاديميين العراقيين لتقديم المزيد من المساهمات العلمية القيمة. احمد إبراهيم
