In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

يتواصل العمل في مشروع إنشاء أرصفة وممرات ومماشي مباني كلية طب الأسنان بجامعة بابل، والذي يتم بتنفيذ أمانة من الكادر الهندسي في شعبة شؤون الديوان. يأتي هذا المشروع بتوجيه من الأستاذة الدكتورة سهى عبد الحسين هندي وإشراف المدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي، معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية. وقد وصلت نسبة الإنجاز فيه إلى 50%. يهدف المشروع إلى تحسين المظهر العام للكلية، وتوفير ممرات آمنة ونظيفة للطلبة والكوادر التدريسية، مما يساهم في خلق بيئة جامعية أفضل وأكثر راحة. احمد إبراهيم
