In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

نشر معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية المدرس الدكتور حسن محسن الرماحي والتدريسي في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل بحث في مجلة أوربية عالمية بعنوان (Morphology of Accessory Canals in Mandibular First Molar of a Malaysian Subpopulation Using a Novel Coding System: A Micro-computed Tomographic Study) إذ يتناول البحث دراسة وتصنيف القنوات الجانبية الثانوية المتفرعة من أقنية جذور الأسنان الخاصة بالضرس الطاحن الأول السفلي باستخدام نظام تصنيفي تشريحي جديد، وكذلك علاقة الموضوع مدار البحث بالجانب السريري وآثاره بنتائج حشوات الجذور. إن البحث تم نشره في المجلة الأوربية لحشوات الجذور European Endodontic journal والمصنفة ضمن مجلات الربع الأول Q1 في مستوعبات سكوبس، Sitescore 3.4 , بالتعاون مع باحثين أجانب من جامعة UM الماليزية. ومن الجدير بالذكر انه ومن بين عشرات البحوث ، قامت المجلة باختيار مجموعة من صور البحث عالية الدقة لتكون صورةً لغلاف المجلة في عددها الحالي (كما مبين في أدناه) . أدناه رابط البحث للمهتمين. https://eurendodj.com/jvi.aspx?un=EEJ-00922&volume احمد إبراهيم
