In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

شارك المدرس بسام علي الطريحي التدريسي في فرع تقويم الأسنان في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل في الندوة الثانية لتقويم الأسنان والمُقامة برعاية قسم تقويم الأسنان في كلية طب الأسنان / جامعة بغداد بالتعاون مع جامعة السليمانية و التي أقيمت في فندق فلسطين الدولي في بغداد. وكانت الندوة متخصصه في آخر مستجدات علوم تقويم الأسنان حيث شارك الدكتور بسام الطريحي بمحاضرة بعنوان ( The role of the artificial intelligence in revolutionizing orthodontic practise) وتضمنت المحاضرة الثورة العلمية التي يشهدها مجال تقويم الأسنان في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي وتطرقت إلى تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في عيادات تقويم الأنسان. التشخيص: استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لتحليل الصور الشعاعية والصور ثلاثية الأبعاد للأسنان والفكين لتحديد مشاكل تقويم الأسنان. التنبؤ: استخدام النماذج الرياضية والذكاء الاصطناعي للتنبؤ بنتائج علاج تقويم الأسنان. التصميم: استخدام البرمجيات الخاصة لتصميم خطط علاجية مخصصة لكل مريض. المتابعة: استخدام التكنولوجيا لمتابعة تقدم العلاج وتقديم التوجيهات اللازمة. الذكاء الاصطناعي يمكن أن يلعب دوراً مهماً في تحسين تشخيص وعلاج مشاكل تقويم الأسنان. من خلال استخدام التكنولوجيا الحديثة، يمكن للأطباء تقديم رعاية أفضل للمرضى وتحقيق نتائج أكثر دقة وفعالية. احمد إبراهيم
