In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. برعاية السيد الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل ياسر رئيس جامعة بابل المحترم وأشراف السيدة الأستاذ الدكتورة سهى عبدالحسين هندي عميد كلية طب الأسنان المحترمة. أقامت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كلية طب الأسنان / جامعة بابل بالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الإعلام ندوة تثقيفية متخصصة بعنوان (التربية الحديثة والتطور التكنلوجي). تحقيقا للخطة الوطنية الثالثة للمرأة والأمن والسلام/ ركيزة المشاركة والإصلاح المؤسسي الفقرة الثالثة وبإدارة أ.م.د. زينب هادي كامل عضوة ارتباط وحدة شؤون المرأة في الكلية. حاضرت فيها طبيبة الأسنان أسراء ماجد عباس معيدة في فرع أمراض وجراحة ما حول الأسنان في الكلية وذلك في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 17-4-2025. حيث تناولت الندوة التربية الحديثة والتطور التكنولوجي من عدة نقاط مهمة، منها التركيز على المهارات الحياتية وتشمل تعليم الطلاب مهارات حياتية مثل التفكير النقدي، حل المشكلات، والعمل الجماعي. والتعلم القائم على المشاريع كتشجيع الطلاب على العمل على مشاريع عملية تطبق فيها المعرفة النظرية. والتعلم المتمركز حول الطالب في جعل الطالب محور العملية التعليمية، وتشجيعه على المشاركة الفعالة. واستخدام التكنولوجيا في التعليم: دمج التكنولوجيا في العملية التعليمية لتحسين جودة التعليم وزيادة فعاليته. كذلك التعلم عن بعد باستخدام الإنترنت والتقنيات الحديثة لتقديم التعليم عن بعد. والموارد التعليمية المفتوحة في استخدام الموارد التعليمية المفتوحة على الإنترنت لتوفير فرص تعليمية متساوية للجميع. وكذلك تطرقت للتحديات والفرص والصعوبات التي تواجه التربية الحديثة والتطور التكنولوجي نقص البنية التحتية، نقص التدريب للمعلمين، والمخاوف الأمنية. وكذلك الفرص توفر التكنولوجيا فرصًا لتحسين جودة التعليم، وزيادة فرص الوصول إلى التعليم، وتعزيز المهارات الحياتية للطلاب. ومن ضمن التوصيات ضرورة استثمار البنية التحتية التكنولوجية في المدارس والجامعات و تقديم التدريب المناسب للمعلمين على استخدام التكنولوجيا في التعليم. وكذلك تعزيز الشراكات بين المؤسسات التعليمية والشركات التقنية لتطوير المهارات. احمد إبراهيم
