In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. برعاية رئيس جامعة بابل الأستاذ الدكتور أمين عجيل الياسري وإشراف عميد كلية طب الأسنان الأستاذ الدكتور سهى عبد الحسين هندي وضمن منهاج وحدة شؤون المرأة أقامت الوحدة دورة تدريبية بالتعاون مع شعبة الإعلام ووحدة التعليم المستمر في الكلية بعنوان (الصحة والسلامة داخل المختبرات وعيادات الأسنان) ليومي الأحد والاثنين 15-16 /12/2024 تحقيقا لأهداف الخطة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للمرأة العراقية 2024-2025 ضمن المحور السادس (المحور البيئي)، وقد حاضرت فيها المدرس د. إسراء ناظم والمدرس المساعد سوزان حميد التدريسيتان في قسم العلوم الأساسية في الكلية. تناولت الدورة إجراءات السلامة والصحة داخل المختبرات البايولوجية والكيميائية والفيزيائية وما هي المخاطر التي تنتج أثناء العمل وكيفية الحد منها وتجنبها والوقاية منها وكذلك تناولت كيفية التعامل مع مرضى الأسنان والأدوات والمواد السنية وما هي الملوثات الناتجة عنها وكيفية التخلص منها بشكل سليم لا يضر بالبيئة وبالإضافة إلى ذلك كيفية إجراء الاحتياطات اللازمة للتعامل مع المرضى ومنع نقل العدوى من خلال تعقيم جميع المستلزمات الطبية بشكل امن لمنع نقل أي عدوى من مريض إلى آخر وكذلك الكادر المختبري. احمد إبراهيم
