In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

اقامت وحدة شؤون المرأة في كلية طب الاسنان / جامعة بابل وبالتعاون مع وحدة التعليم المستمر وشعبة الاعلام في الكلية ندوة توعوية بعنوان (انتشار المخدرات الرقمية واثرها الصحي ومكافحتها) حاضرت فيها ا.م.د. زينب هادي كامل عضوة ارتباط وحدة شؤون المرأة في الكلية يوم الاربعاء الموافق 2024/10/23 تحقيقا لأهداف الخطة السنوية للاستراتيجية الوطنية للمرأة العراقية للعام 2024-2025 ضمن المحور الثالث : حماية المرأة ومواجهة العنف. وتضمنت الندوة تسليط الضوء على ظاهرة المخدرات الرقمية التي ظهرت نتيجة للتطور التكنولوجي وزيادة ضغوطات الحياة المتطورة حيث تعمل هذه المخدرات على فرق الترددات السمعية في الاذنين والواصلة الى الدماغ لتحاكي ترددات الاسترخاء والنوم العميق وقد يؤدي كثرة اعتماد هذه البرامج والتطبيقات الى الادمان عليها واهم مضارها الصحية الشعور بالصداع المستمر وعدم انتظام ضربات القلب وقد تؤدي الى ظهور الصرع بالإضافة الى القلق والاضطرابات الاخرى وكشفت الندوة على اهمية الدور الرقابي للأهل والمجتمع للحد من هذه الظاهرة كما عرضت سبل العلاج من هذه الظاهرة وفتح المجال للنقاش مع الحاضرين من منتسبي الكلية. احمد ابراهيم
