In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

ضمن نشاطات وحدة التعليم المستمر في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل وبالتعاون مع وحدة تمكين المرأة وبرعاية عميد كلية طب الاسنان الاستاذ الدكتور وسام وهاب صاحب تقيم وحده التعليم المستمر دورة تدريبية بعنوان (جمع العينات المختبرية وآلية سحب الدم)، حاضر فيها م.د. عمار حاتم عبداللطيف و م.م. هديل لؤي و م.م. دنيا عباس بحضور عدد كبير من أساتذة وموظفي وطلبة الكلية. حيث ناقشت الدورة في قسمها الاول كيفية التعامل مع التحليلات المرضية في المختبرات الطبية بدأ من تسجيل معلومات المريض واختيار التحاليل وكيفية تهيئة المريض مسبقا قبل سحب عينات الدم وتم ذكر العوامل البايولوجية والظرفية للمريض التي من الممكن ان تسبب بأخطاء في نتائج التحاليل وهو ما يعرف بأخطاء ما قبل التحليل ونقاشت الدورة في قسمها الثاني انواع العينات وانابيب الاختبار الخاصة بالتحليلات المرضية واستخداماتها والعوامل الداخلية والخارجية المؤثرة على العينات وتم في اليوم الثاني من الدورة تعليم الطلبة وكوادر الكلية الحاضرين آلية سحب الدم وتطبيقها بشكل عملي. احمد ابراهيم
