In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

أجرت كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل سفره علمية إلى جامعة المشرق الأهلية في محافظة بغداد بتوجيه من عميد الكلية الاستاذ الدكتور أمير حمدي العميدي حيث التقى وفد الزيارة برئاسة مدرس دكتور جميله علي عبد الصاحب معاون العميد للشؤون العلمية في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل بالأستاذ الدكتور عبدالجبار مخلص رئيس جامعة المشرق والاستاذ الدكتور عمر عبدالجبار عميد كلية طب الأسنان جامعة المشرق ضم الوفد الزائر عدد من تدريسيي وطلبة طب اسنان بابل. تأتي هذه الزيارة من مبدأ التعاون المشترك بين مؤسسات الدولة في المجالين العلمي والعملي حيث اتفق الجانبان على توطيد العلاقة في مجال البحث العلمي وتم التنسيق بين وحدة التعليم المستمر في طب اسنان بابل ووحدة التعليم المستمر في جامعة المشرق على إقامة الدورات والندوات العلمية المشتركة والتي تم المباشرة بها من قبل طب اسنان بابل منذ الجمعة الاولى لشهر رمضان المبارك تحت عنوان أمسية رمضانية عبر الفضاء الإلكتروني وقد حاضر فيها عميد كلية طب الأسنان في جامعة بابل ا.د. امير حمدي العميدي وكل جمعة تحمل عنوان لندوة علمية مشتركة بين طب اسنان بابل و طب اسنان المشرق كما تسعى طب اسنان بابل إلى تحقيق أعلى المستويات العلمية من خلال استثمار كل المبادرات العلمية المتاحة لها كما تم حضور الوفد العلمي وطلبة طب اسنان بابل في المحفل العلمي الذي أقيم في جامعة المشرق والذي تخلله القاء القصائد و سمنارات تخصصية في مجال طب الأسنان. احمد ابراهيم
