In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

ضمن نشاطات وحدة التعليم المستمر بالتعاون مع وحدة تمكين المرأة وبتوجيه من عميد كلية طب اسنان بابل الاستاذ الدكتور امير حمدي العميدي تم إقامة دورة علمية بعنوان (بروتينات المرحلة الحادة acute phase protein) حاضر فيها كل من ا.م.د. فاطمة مالك عبود و م.م. اسماء سامي جواد. وتناولت تعريف بمعنى بروتينات المرحلة الحادة واسباب زيادة او انخفاض مستوياتها في بلازما الدم وتحديد الاماكن المسؤولة عن افرازها والاعراض التي تظهر على الافراد نتيجة ارتفاع او انخفاض مستوياتها وتصنيفها الى موجبة وسالبة وايضا تصنيفها مره اخرى على اساس الزيادة الحاصلة في محتواها بالجسم وقد تناولت المحاضرة بشيء من الاختصار لأنواعها منها الc-reactive protein والهابتين من قبل م.م. اسماء سامي جواد حيث تناولت المحاضرة تعريف بكلاهما ووصف لدورهما في مختلف الامراض التي يتعرض لها الجسم منها امراض القلب وفقر الدم الانحلالي وطرق قياسهما وتفسير للنتائج المختبرية لكليهما اما بالنسبة للبروتين الالبومين والفايبرينوجين albumin and fibrinogen فقط تم تناولهما من قبل ا.م.د. فاطمة مالك عبود حيث تناولت تعريف بكلا البروتينان واماكن صناعتهما في الجسم ودور الفايبرينوجين في عملية تخثر الدم ووصفه بأحد العناصر المهمة في حدوث عملية التخثر والنتائج المترتبة على زيادة او نقصان نسبته في الدم ووصف لحالات محددة تخص هذا البروتين وكذلك وصف لبروتين الالبومين ومكان صنعه في الجسم وتحديد مسؤوليته عن الامراض المتعلقة بالكبد والكليتين وتفسير لمعنى وجوده في الادرار وطرق قياسه والتعامل معه ومعنى ارتفاعه او انخفاضه عن المستوى الطبيعي في بلازما الدم واستخدامه لتعويض الجسم وذكر الحالات التي يتم فيها تعويض الجسم ببروتين الالبومين وسوف يتم ان شاء الله عقد اليوم الثاني للدورة وذلك يوم الاحد الموافق الخامس من شهر اذار الجاري من وسوف تحاضر فيه ا.م.د. زينب هادي وسوف يتم تناول موضوع الفرتين ferritin كتكملة لمجريات الدورة العلمية وقد حضر الدورة ا.م.د. ميسلون زهير حسين معاون العميد للشؤون الادارية و م.د. جميلة علي عبد الصاحب معاون العميد للشؤون العلمية ونخبة من أساتذة وموظفي الكلية. احمد ابراهيم
