In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

أقامت شعبة ضمان الجودة في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل دورة تدريبية برعاية الاستاذ الدكتور أمير حمدي العميدي عميد الكلية دورة تدريبية حول (دليل ملف تقييم الاداء لمنتسبي وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي)، حاضر فيها الدكتور عمار عيسى مهدي بحضور عميد الكلية بمشاركة رؤساء الأقسام العلمية وعدد كبير من التدريسيين . تم من خلال الدورة التدريبية التطرق الى انواع الاستمارات المستخدمة في تقييم الاداء ، وشرح محاور الاستمارات وما تحتوي من مؤشرات وفق استمارات التقييم المقرة من قبل جهاز الاشراف والتقويم العلمي و آلية ملء الاستمارة الالكترونية الخاصة بتقييم أداء التدريسيين السنوي. وأيضا تضمنت توضيحا عن آلية ملء استمارات تقييم الأداء السنوي وأهمية تهيئة الملفات المطلوبة التي توثق مشاركات التدريسيين في المؤتمرات والندوات العلمية والحلقات النقاشية وورش العمل والندوات أو نشر البحوث . كما بينت أهم الفقرات المتضمنة في استمارة تقيم الأداء وكيفية الدخول اليها وتجنب الأخطاء في ملئ الاستمارة مع الإشارة إلى درجات التقييم المخصصة لكل نشاط علمي قدمه وأنجزه التدريسي. احمد ابراهيم
