In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

أفادت شعبة شؤون الديوان في كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل باستمرار العمل في مشروع تأهيل وتوسعة العيادات الطبية الثلاثة في الكلية التي تجري بإشراف مباشر من عميد الكلية الاستاذ الدكتور أمير حمدي العميدي والكادر الهندسي. وقد أفاد المهندس عبدالهادي عمران احد مهندسي شعبة شؤون الديوان في الكلية أن العمل في المشروع سوف يتم إنجازه خلال الفترة المحددة له وقبل بدء العام الدراسي الجديد. احمد ابراهيم Continuing work in the clinics of the College of Dentistry of Babylon The Division of Diwan Affairs at the College of Dentistry, University of Babylon, reported the continuation of work on the project to rehabilitate and expand the three medical clinics in the college, which is being conducted under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Amir Hamdi Al-Amidi and the engineering staff. Engineer Abdul Hadi Omran, one of the engineers of the Diwan Affairs Division at the college, stated that work on the project will be completed within the specified period and before the start of the new academic year.
