In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

ضمن برنامج التوسعة في عيادات كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل باشرت شعبة شؤون الديوان في الكلية وبتوجيه من عميد الكلية الاستاذ الدكتور أمير حمدي العميدي بتوسعة عيادات طب الفم للمرحلتين الرابعة والخامسة حيث صرح السيد العميدي عن المباشرة بتنفيذ وانشاء البنية التحتية من مياه مجاري و مياه منقبه وتوفير الاجهزة للتعقيم اضافة الى إكمال التوصيلات الكهربائية واكمال البنيه إلكترونية للعمل بنظام تطبيقي خاص بالعيادات الطبية التعليمية وحاليا العمل جاري في كل من عيادة امراض اللثة المرحلة الخامسة وعيادة تقويم الاسنان وعيادة معالجة الاسنان لطلبة المرحلة الرابعة. وتم الانتهاء من تحديت كل من عيادتي طب الأسنان الاطفال والوقاية وانشاء عيادة جراحه الفم والأسنان لمرحلة الرابع بعد أن كانت عيادة جراحه الفم والاسنان واحدة بمرحلتين الرابع والخامس وكذلك الانتهاء من عيادة معالجة الاسنان مرحلة الخامسة مع وجود تأسيس البنية الالكترونية في الكلية مع زيادة عدد أجهزة فحص الأسنان في ثلاث عيادات طبية إلى ضعف العدد وذلك عن طريق تصميم العيادات إلى نظام عيادات مفصولة واستغلال المساحات لغرض زيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية مع ازدياد أعداد الطلبة المقبولين وكذلك من أجل تطوير العملية التعليمية والعلمية على أن يتم الانجاز خلال العطلة الصيفية وقبل بداية التدريب الصيفي والمفترض انطلاقه في الواحد من شهر أب العام الحالي وحسب الخطة والتخطيط الاستراتيجي لعمادة الكلية. احمد ابراهيم
