In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

شارك الاستاذ الدكتور بهاء حمدي حكيم التدريسي في كلية طب اسنان بابل في المحاضرة العلمية التي اقامتها الجمعية العراقية للسلامة البيولوجية بعنوان (الحيوانات البرية والامراض المشاركة منظور الصحة الواحدة) عبر تطبيق FCC تناولت المحاضرة الدور المهم للحيوانات البرية في نقل الامراض المشاركة للإنسان ومنها القوارض والابقار والمواشي عن طريق الناقل الذي يكون احيانا القراد او البعوض او غير ذلك وتطرقت المحاضرة الى المخاطر التي تسببها من امراض مشتركه للإنسان كالحمى النزفية والجدري ًواكدت المحاضرة ان النقل بواسطه البواخر او غير ذلك من وسائط النقل تلعب دور في هذا الحالة ولذلك اكدت على ضرورة تظافر الجهود من مختلف الجهات الحكومية معا كدوائر البيطري والصحة وخاصة قسم الوقاية في تنظيم حملات التوعية وكذلك الاستعداد التعفير في العديد من الاماكن للوقاية وحضر المحاضرة العديد من الاكاديميين والمهتمين بالصحة العامة. احمد ابراهيم
