In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

شرعت كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل في استخدام نظام التصحيح الآلي الإلكتروني بإشراف مباشر من عميد الكلية الاستاذ الدكتور أمير حمدي العميدي ومعاون العميد للشؤون العلمية مدرس دكتور جميله علي عبد الصاحب وحضور أساتذة الكلية حيث قامت الكلية بتجهيز نظام حديث يعنى بتصحيح اوراق الاجابة للطلبة بشكل سريع ودقيق ويعتمد النظام على قراءة اوراق الاجابة للطلبة بشكل آلي ويتمكن من تدقيقها واظهار الدرجات بشكل يخدم اجراء اختبارات الطلبة ويسهل اظهار النتائج ويجري في هذه الفترة تدريب الطلبة على هذا النظام بالاختبارات الفصلية تمهيداً لاستخدامه في الاختبارات النهائية المقبلة بإذنه تعالى. احمد ابراهيم
