In 1988, the College of Engineering became the first engineering college in the densely populated Middle Euphrates region. The departments of civil, and mechanical engineering were the first to be established, followed by the departments of electrical, chemical, environmental, architecture, and biomedical engineering.

برعاية السيد رئيس جامعة بابل الاستاذ الدكتور قحطان هادي الجبوري المحترم وإشراف عميد كلية طب الأسنان جامعة بابل الاستاذ الدكتور امير حمدي العميدي اقامت وحدة التعليم الالكتروني ندوة علمية حول (الابتزاز الالكتروني للمرأة) وذلك يوم الخميس الموافق 2021/12/16على قاعة المؤتمرات في الكلية افتتحت الندوة بقراءة القرآن الكريم ومن ثم كلمة عميد الكلية الأستاذ الدكتور امير حمدي العميدي ثم بعد ذلك حاضر في الندوة القاضي حسنين عبد اللطيف من محكمة الاستئناف في بابل ثم العميد الحقوقي عادل كاظم العناوي من مديرية شرطة بابل ثم المقدم محمد مردان والرائد مقداد وتوت من مديرية أمن بابل ومدرس دكتور امنه عطيه من مركز الحاسوب في جامعة بابل وفي الختام كلمة مدرس دكتور جميله علي عبد الصاحب معاون العميد للشؤون العلمية في الكلية. وقد حضر الندوة المهندس مروان العبيدي معاون محافظ بابل و عدد كبير من الساده الضيوف وأساتذة وموظفي وطلبة الكلية. تكونت اللجنه التحضيرية للندوة من استاذ مساعد دكتور ميسلون زهير حسين معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية ومدرس دكتور جميله علي عبد الصاحب معاون العميد للشؤون العلمية واستاذ مساعد دكتور زينب هادي كامل رئيس فرع العلوم الأساسية و مدير الإدارة السيد مخلف نجم عبيد الخفاجي والسيد عبد الحليم ابراهيم والسيد احمد ابراهيم عيدان والسيد سعد رحيم مهدي والسيد احمد خضر بهجت. تمحورت الندوة عن الابتزاز الالكتروني للمرأة حيث أشار السيد العميدي إلى أهمية هذه الندوة كونها تعمل على زيادة الوعى و زيادة المعرفة من أجل الوقاية و الحذر من الوقوع في المحذور وخصوصا كون حاليا شريحة كبيرة من الطلبة والسادة التدريسين و المنتسبين من كوادر وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي وزارة التربية و الأهالي تواجه خطر عدم معرفة التعامل مع وسائط الانترنت الافتراضي من خلال التعليم الالكتروني و بصورة مفاجئة بسبب وباء كرونا مطالبا إدخال هذه المعلومات ضمن المنهاج الدراسي. وكذلك طرق الوقوع في هذه المشاكل والحوادث وأساليب المجرمين في ابتزاز الفتيات والمواطنين وعن طرق كيفية التعامل معها بأساليب علمية حديثة تتبعها الدوائر الحكومية الأمنية المختصة وكذلك تطرقت الندوة إلى بعض الإرشادات الواجب الانتباه لها واتباعها في استخدام الموبايل والانترنت وبرامج التواصل الاجتماعي كذلك الاستماع الى مداخلات من الطلبة وطرح بعض المشاكل التي تواجههم في هذا الموضوع وإيجاد الحلول المناسبة لها وفي نهاية الندوة تم تقديم شهادات المشاركة للساده الحضور. احمد ابراهيم
